The Onepoint Pilates & Yoga Studio was founded by husband & wife team, Anne & Harvey Evans, on the 4th of August 2003, in Blackwood. On the 30th June 2008, the new Onepoint studio was opened, in Waite St. Backwood. The purpose-built fit-out with increased floor space, now provides for the increasing demand for quality instruction and teacher training facilities. The Onepoint Studio is commited to providing you with qualified, experienced instructors, who are informed by the very latest research, are university/tertiary trained and personally mentored by Anne Evans. All Onepoint instructors complete extensive hours of observation and assisted teaching, in-depth assignments, case studies, theory & practical exams, with candidates graduating with High Distinction.
On our front desk, Harvey manages all studio bookings and enquiries. Anne is studio director, head of education and principal studio instructor, having studied & taught extensively in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Anne is an accredited Level 4 Professional Pilates Practitioner (APMA) and also holds a Bachelor of Ed. (Health), Dip Stein. Teach., Exercise & Sport Science, Cert. IV in Training & Assessment, Dip. Yoga (AYMA), Advanced Spine & Rehabilitation (Polestar). 2011 will see Anne continue her Masters by Research (Ed. Health Sc/Pilates).
Anne is committed to on-going research, personally contributing to the growing body of scientific knowledge that currently exists; she is in touch with other academics/Pilates specialists across the globe and is passionate about the research she is engaged in at the Onepoint Studio. Not only does the scientific community and the Pilates industry benefit from this, but Onepoint clients get to be part of cutting-edge research that further validates & deepens our understanding of how & why Pilates works; instructors at Onepoint have first hand access to such findings, further complementing a high standard of teaching and training that is second to none.
